Dr.Ir Raymond Veldhuis is an associate professor in the faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Twente in Enschede, The Netherlands., where he is the head of a research team in the area of Biometrics. This team participates in various national and European research projects in the domain of biometrics. The main topics of research are face recognition, fingerprint recognition and biometric template protection.
In the current EU research program Raymond Veldhuis is, or has been, involved in: the FP6 Network of Excellence BioSecure, the FP6 Integrated Project 3D-Face (on face recognition based on geometry and texture) and the FP7 Integrated Project TURBINE. (on privacy protection of biometric templates).
He published numerous technical papers and two books and has been a speaker at international conferences. He was a member of various program committees (ICPR, ICB, BTAS, BIOSSIG, Wissec) and served as a reviewer for several conferences, journals and magazines (Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Speech and Audio Processing, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics, Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Journal of the ASA.).
